Organic Residue Analysis

Unglazed ceramic vessels can trap the molecules from organic products processed or preserved in their porous structures. While the degradation processes occurring underground destroy the visible residues remaining on the surface of the ceramics, the residues trapped in the pores are little affected by this degradation process.

By extracting these organic residues trapped in the pores of the ceramics with appropriate methods and then analyzing them with chromatographic determination techniques, the intended use of the relevant ceramic vessels can be determined.
