the lab
Darıkan Lab has all the archaeological photography and drawing equipment.
We also provide our excavations and others (including surveys) with equipment such as thermal drones and GNSS cores.
STEREOMICROSCOPE
We have a Trinocular Stereo microscope (Nikon SMZ745T) with the relevant attachments specialized for archaeological research. The microscope is especially effective for botany, bone, and textile samples as well as examining details of iconography on seals and seal impressions. Stereomicroscopes allow examination of material without sampling.
OPTICAL MICROSCOPY
We provide researchers with Nikon Eclipse LV100N Polarized microscope with 2,5-50X magnification capacity. The attachments are specialized for petrographic thin section and metallographic research.
